Nissan Pulsar GTi-R (RNN14)
The Nissan Pulsar GTi-R was a homologation version of the 3 door Pulsar designed to compete in the WRC under Group A rules. Nissan went all out to make this a road legal rally car and the SR20DET engine variant in the GTi-R is the most powerful and toughest produced at that point. With changes such as a redesigned plenum, quad throttle bodies, solid lifters, bigger cams, a large top mounted intercooler and bigger injectors to name a few, the SR20DET spat out 169kW (230hp) with room for much more, and in battle hardened trim capable of taking rally punishment.
The changes weren't only under the bonnet, the GTi-R received redesigned suspension, a unique rear wing and body kit (with signature bonnet vent), additional gauges in the interior, different brakes and LSD. Power was fed through a 5 speed manual only and controlled via the ATTESA 4WD control system.
