The Mitsubishi Delica D:5 (successor to the Delica Spacegear) can now be imported and complied, they are an off-road 7 or 8 seater wagon with high end luxury features and cater to a niche in the Australian market which local manufacturers have never filled but which certainly exists, as evidenced by the huge popularity of imported Delica Spacegears.

The Delica D:5 is large, well appointed, economical for a vehicle of this type and for good reason is a popular car in Japan.
Models eligible for import:
2007 and onwards 2.4L 4WD models only. 2.0L and front wheel drive models cannot be imported.
Availability:
D:5's have sold in good numbers and are readily available, and there are enough around that you can be reasonably specific in the model or features that you want. Given their age almost all will have low mileage.
Typical pricing:
As of mid 2010 they are usually in the high $20k to high $30k range if sourced from auction, depending on specs and mileage. Roadest versions (with the different body kit) are typically slightly more expensive.
