Inland transportation within Australia

Once vehicles have arrived in Australia and are cleared through customs they can then be transported either to the compliance workshop directly, to the customer's house, or to some other location if they wish. From some ports it is mandatory that cars are transported on a truck as access to the general public to pick up their car is not permitted. In this case or if the customer would like our customs clearance agent can arrange for this transportation on your behalf, and transport from a port to most areas within that capital city is usually around $150. If the port allows it and customers so desire cars can be picked up on a temporary registration permit and driven, the rules for such a permit will differ for each state but as a rough general rule the permit can be used for driving the car to or from locations for the purpose of getting it roadworthy or registered, and temporary permits usually cost around $80 or so for a 28 day permit.

The majority of customers choose to have us arrange with the customs clearance agent to deliver the car on their behalf to the compiance workshop as this is easiest for them, and is the next logical place to send their car.
