Toyota Mark X GRX133

customer feedback

6 cars incl. 1989 Nissan 180SX

I have purchased 8 vehicles through J-Spec since 2004 and have been thoroughly impressed with the service provide by Ben and Craig. Their advice and knowledge regarding importation laws, regulations and the industry in general is excellent which has made all of my vehicle purchases very easy.

The estimated costs have been almost spot on each time. I have not paid more than the estimated costs and each time, they have stepped me through the process, providing guidance on when funds are to be transferred and to who.

I would highly recommend J-Spec to anyone who is interested in or looking for more advice about importing a vehicle into Australia.

Pics and info for:

Toyota Mark X

The 130 series Toyota Mark X was released in 2009 to positive reviews, the fine balance of luxury and sports performance being very improved upon from the earlier Mark X that it succeeded.

The Mark X is a 4 door, rear wheel drive sports luxury vehicle featuring a 234kW (319hp) engine with excellent, refined power with quite reasonable fuel economy for a car of this size and performance. The 3.5L 2GR-FSE engine with VVT-i is largely the same as that found locally in the Lexus GS350, Lexus IS350 and Toyota Crown, improvements to this engine incorporate Toyota's DS4-S twin injection fuel system which combines both traditional port injection as well as direct injection into the combustion chamber. This allows for both impressive power, but smooth and ecnonomical driving under normal conditions.

Other interesting changes to the new model include a drive by wire system with both electronic throttle and electronic steering, the latter allowing more responsive steering at lower speeds. While the engine and drive train is shared with Lexus and Toyota models, the chassis also shares many components with the Lexus GS luxury sedan and Toyota Crown.

Standard and optional features include:

6 speed tiptronic auto 3.5L 234kW V6 engine
Paddle shift transmission Variable gear ratio steering
Steering wheel controls Smart key entry and start with remote boot release
Front, side and curtain airbags Push button start

There were also some special ediitons of the Mark X, though these are relatively rare. The Vertiga version by Modellista features a different body kit, wheels and suspension, and the G's variant by Gazoo Racing (later called the GR Sports) features a different and agressive front bumper, bigger wheels, suspension and interior changes. Modeilista also made a very rare +M Super Charger version, however this is not eligible for import as the costs of emissions testing this vehicle are extremely high, and a mere 200 were made.
