Toyota Mark X Zio (GGA10 series)
The Mark X Zio was made from 2007 to 2013 and is an interesting hybrid of a sedan, station wagon and mini van. Importable models have 6 or seats with large amounts of storage space inside possible, and comes with good performance and luxury features. The name is actually pronounced "Geo" as there is no way to say "Zio" in Japanese, though if that takes off or not in Australia is another story.
The Mark X Zio has a 206kW 3.5L dual VVT-i engine, this is the 2GR-FE and is shared with the Toyota Camry, Avalon, Tarago, Estima, Alphard, Vellfire and a few Lexus variants as well, so parts availability is no problem. This is mounted to a 6 speed tiptronic transmission.
While there is a 7 seater available for lower spec versions, importable models are the luxury models with 6 seats with 2 front seats, 2 middle seats, and 2 seats for the third row. The rear seats are thin fold down seats, wiht the second row of seats a pair of "captain's chair" style seats with a centre arm rest and console.
Safety features include S-VSC (Steering-asstisted Vehicle Stability Control) which combines cutting engine power, applying brakes and adjusting steering to stabilize a car that's skidding or out of control, front airbags, side airbags, various braking assists, and the car also uses radar to detect if a crash is about to occur and pre activiates brakes and seatbelts in anticipation.
As well as the usual slew of luxury features a modern, high end car such as this has, there is also radar cruise control (the car will maintain the distance to the car in front), smart key access with push button start, and parking assist which uses sensors to detect the surroundings during parallel parking, and controls the steering to guide you.
